|
I acknowledge
III Cord Foundation as a reliable
and most committed organization both
in spiritual and physical life. From
our last performance, we can strongly
testify that we are moving forth.
The funds <Micro-Loan Empowerment
Program> MEP, have been reaching
us through out the last five months
in accordance to the memorandum of
understanding. This has enabled us
plan, evaluate and to do our work
on time with without delays. Hence,
our targets and aim to reach out and
empower the poor and the weak in the
church and the society has been successful.
I thank God for the wisdom of Rev.
Dr. Tracey L. Goodner, the first lady
of the mission and the entire family
of the III Cord Foundation Organization.

We too would give
thanks to the Federal Republic of
the USA for their support channeled
to USAID, through III Cord Foundation,
which has farther reached us as we
reach those that are targeted for.
We thank God for good relationship
between the nation of Kenya and the
States. Their support and prayers
have always been of great impact to
our Nation Kenya and our mother continent
Africa. Through III Cord Foundation,
we have been able to carter for the
orphans, disables, HIV/AIDS victims
and widows and now for the poor and
the weak in the society due to Micro-Loan
Empowerment Program from III Cord
Foundation. |

The seminars and
education workshops and summits have
always been empowering people both
spiritually as a matter of fact; they
have trainers that have been training
people to build their economy and
work harder to improve their living
standards. We believe with the aid,
MEP, Grants and other help we can
reach our goal and satisfying the
church and the society. Glory to God |

THE MEP (MICRO-LOAN EMPOWERMENT
PROGRAM) |
| |
|
|
|
MEP funds are really
transforming lives; loans have been
given to groups and Community Based
Organization, Brethrens that are in
churches and in society. The group
consists of widows, widowers, internal
displaced person due to clashes and
epidemics that hit our country in
the recent months. Due to economic
status of the majority these brethrens,
it was not wise giving loans to individuals.
Most were farmers who had been chassed
away from their land with their families
by the intruders due to war.The groups
offer loan to their members and guarantee
them to us. |
|
|
|
|
|
We decided to offer
loans to groups, we had started with
individuals but gave us hard time
when they failed to pay while others
didn’t pay in agreed time. Due
to lack of business knowledge also
due to their situation as I.D.Ps Internally
Displaced Persons and poverty in general,
so it was not wise to loan individuals,
but to loan them through their groups
that could guarantee them. We also
had to educate them through seminars
on the business entrepreneurship,
ethics in Business and some basic
productive business skills. |
|
|
|
|
|
Merry-go-round,
benefits from shares, equal share
of profit by members as well as benefits
from the projects they run etc are
the resources that earn them a living
as members in their respective groups.
Others work on other people’s
farms for a live hood. With the empowerment
of MEP, the groups are running different
projects like: brick making, rearing
of chicken, farming, running small
business, splitting woods and selling
them, water cleaning/selling project
e.t.c. This not only will help them
to pay the loans, but also help them
to have better lives. |

| REMARKS |

|
|
Problems
encounters are like; poverty since
many cannot payback the loans, due
to their situations as I.D.Ps, poverty
and lack of business knowledge.
So with your seminars, support through
MEP, advise, Grants, help of Aids
i.e. food, finances, materials,
education are needed. Especially
to the orphans and with them we
carter far. Material like iron sheets
and other building materials e.t.c
are needed to build houses to the
widows and their children as they
settle. Their houses were destroyed;
animals raided during the clashes,
finances to help them cultivate
their lands e.g. buying seed, fertilizers
e.t.c and do small business to earn
a living ARE VERY IMPORT NOT ONLY
TO THEM AS INDIVIDUALS, BUT MUCH
MORE TO BUILD THE BODY OF CHRIST.
Finances
to facilitate food, medication,
education to total orphans that
we carter for in the church and
these that we have not reach for.
This is help through paying fees,
buying books, uniforms and food
beddingse.t.c.
GOD BLESS
III CORD FOUNDATION.
