| APPLICATION PROCESS |

Awards are made twice yearly: January and July. Interested
applicants must submit a two page program summary by November
15 and May 15. From these the Board will select ones of
Interest for a more detail grant application. |

| GRANT TERMS |
|
| |
| III Cord Foundation provides both general support and
project-specific grants. Although most grants cover a one year
period. The Foundation accepts request for funding renewals
and makes multi-year grants (up to three years). The maximum
grant award will not exceed $5,000 yearly (the average
approved award is $2,000) . Each grant must provide evidence
of dollar match of 3:1 for each Foundation dollar awarded. The
Foundation makes a conscious effort to remain flexible, so
that it can respond to requests that address new, unusual, and
immediate problems as they arise. |

| FUNDING PRIORITIES |

Community Development :
Local Organizations– Programs that are guided by and involve
low–income people in the planning and implementation of
solutions to address issues including homelessness, affordable
housing and economic participation. We have particular
interest in community mobilization and leadership development,
community development and capacity building efforts. |

Economic Development:
Employment, training and alternative education skill building
activities that provide quality education. These services
focus upon employment readiness, business development,
investment training and financial literacy services and other
assistance for youth and heads of households who have dropped
out of school, experience chronic unemployment, or have
minimal or no employment skills, so that they may achieve
financial independence. |

Special Opportunities:
III Cord Foundation supports efforts outside of our funding
criteria in other areas. The Directors must view these
proposals as opportunities for the Foundation to play an
important role in promoting institutional change or community
empowerment in aiding disadvantage people and families.
Consideration will also be given to disaster relief request. |
